Youth With A Mission - South Australia

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - Howard Thurman

Have you ever stopped to think about it? – your life? And the things that make you come alive? The unspoken, hidden desires of your heart? The burning passion inside of you to see the world changed? To have a lasting impact?

To know who God is and who you are in Him – we understand this is the key to living a life in freedom. We believe that God has a special and unique plan for your life, a mission that only you can accomplish. We want to offer you the opportunity to find out more about God’s plans for your life and in the process of walking through a season of life together we hope that you will discover yourself and God in new ways.

“It’s who you are that touches other people’s lives.” – Graeme Hackworth

In the world of today, dreams only have a very small chance to survive; they get shut down in their early stages by waves of realism crashing down on them. We want to offer you a place of support, where you can dream with God and go do the things He places on your heart. A Discipleship Training School is not only a place where dreams are birthed or reconfirmed, or where you will have a chance to discover yourself and God in new ways; but it is also a place of character building, challenge and adventure.

We believe that Jesus is 100% relational and he is more interested in your relationships and in your future than you are.

February 2009 Mercy in Action DTS

Getting equipped...
– Lecture Phase

The first portion of the DTS is spent at our training facility, located in the Adelaide Hills. Surrounded by urban needs and challenges students are encouraged to dig deep in pursuing God through lectures, small group discussions, reading assignments, and personal reflection. Through teachings on topics like God’s character and nature, Relationships, the Father heart of God, Frontier Missions etc. we believe that God will try to use some of these teachings to speak to you and pinpoint areas of your life that he specifically wants to refine at this time.

Discover new cultures and broaden your horizons…
- Outreach Phase

“The highest form of worship is the worship of unselfish Christian service. The greatest form of praise is the sound of consecrated feet seeking out the lost and helpless.” – Billy Graham

The heart of the February 2009 DTS is Mercy. We believe that scripture shows that there’s a great burden on God’s heart for the orphans and the widows and the oppressed and lost people of our world. He is challenging us to reach out to the ones amongst us who need it the most. The February 09 DTS will be focusing on the poor and needy and offering you plenty of opportunities to serve in weekly local outreaches and also in a two and a half months outreach to one or more developing nations, in which we will have daily ministries with a strong emphasis on evangelism and mercy ministry.

“While women weep, as they do now, I'll fight; while children go hungry, as they do now I'll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I'll fight; while there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I'll fight, I'll fight to the very end!” – William Booth.

Outreach enables students to walk out what they've learnt through practical, hands on involvement.

The verse that was laid on our hearts for the upcoming DTS is found in Isaiah 58:10-12

…and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

The possibilities are endless! Come and join us as we impact the nations of the world.

“I am pleading for a time when we can learn by reason and judgment and understanding and faith that all life is worth saving, and that mercy is the highest attribute of man.”
– Clarence Darrow - A Plea for Mercy

What makes ywam adelaide different?
location, location, location

Many people comment on how ideal the location is for a school due, in part, to the rolling green hills and the close proximity to the city. Kangaroos, Koalas and other Native Wildlife sometimes wander onto our facilities and are among the many highlights, especially for those from overseas.

Quality and personal discipleship is an important component of our schools. Our training is enhanced by the warm friendly atmosphere and a sense of everyone working together to make this place a home. We have quality mature staff who aid in your development and key staff who have long term experience on the field inputting into your school.
